Vizcaya Mansion is an Italian Renaissance-style villa and formal gardens built in 1916 as the winter residence of industrialist James Deering. The mansion and grounds reflect the culture of the Gilded Age and the spirit of the dawning Jazz Age. This private, docent-led tour of Vizcaya's 180-acres oceanfront estate will introduce you to Miami's place in this history—a time when America's wealthiest industrialists created lavish homes inspired by the palaces of Europe. The ornate decorations and furnishings still in the estate today were purchased by Deering on his many expeditions throughout Europe.
